Rule Your World
I was in a bank earlier today for some transactions and entering the bulk room, I met this young lady who I believe is between the ages of 23 & 26 and she is one of the cashiers in the bank. I looked at her face and I looked at other cashiers {who are of the same age with this lady} around her and the following conversation ensued between us:
Me:- Why do we have many young people in the banking sector these days?
Lady:- Is it bad?
Me:- No. Not that. It’s just that I pity them a lot.
Lady:- Pity? Why do you pity us?
Me:- Many of these young people will work for companies or firms from their
young age till they grow old. But imagine if all of you here are entrepreneurs
in different sectors, won’t this country be better place for all of us?
Lady:- Many of us are just doing it for the main time.
Me:- That’s what many say, before they know it, they are having grey hair in that
same company. If you can get the book RICH DAD, POOR DAD, read it. It will
help you.
My people, that’s the conversation we had. But let’s use this lady as a case study. Let’s assume she is 25 years old, young, vibrant, intelligent, dedicated and many more. She is a young graduate with fresh and bright ideas. But, guess what? She is using all these qualities to enrich another man’s purse and what does she get in return? PEANUT as salary.
Many of us are fond of asking the question, “What can my country do for me?”, “Why can’t my country do this for me?” but, we don’t always ask ourselves the question, “What can I do for my country?” If I am an entrepreneur, you are an entrepreneur and this lady is an entrepreneur too, we will employ not less than 5 people each and with that, we will reduce the rate of unemployment in our country.
The problem with many of us is that we don’t want to take the blame for what is happening to us. Rather, we want to blame our friends, family, relations and we also want to blame the government. My people, let’s wake up from our slumber because not until we wake up, we can not think right and if we don’t think right, there can’t be any change around us. “Rule your world. If not, someone else will rule it for you”

It is a pity that the year 2011 did not give us the opportunities we needed or maybe it gave us the opportunities, but we were too distracted to notice the golden opportunities given to us by year 2011.Nevertheless, the year 2012 is here with its own golden opportunities but it is also a pity that many will be crying over the unused 2011 opportunities till 2012 opportunities will pass them by, while some people will be rejoicing over their 2011 victories till their 2012 gains will turn to pains.My people, the year 2011 is gone with whatever it came with. Some were able to get victories last year while some, defeat. But, let's forget about the gains and pains of last year and focus on the gains of this year. Mind you, learn from your mistakes last year and use them to tackle your obstacles this new year.So, as we go about our daily activities this year, let's remember that every minute counts alot and the way we use these minutes determines our victories or defeats at the end of the year.
"For Jerusalem sake, I will not hold my peace...". For Nigeria youth's sake, I will not hold my breathe. For how will a father reap the fruit of his labour when ASUU strike is rendering we the youths useless day by day. Someone who knows should please tell me how a mother will reap the fruit of her labour in a country where BOMBS are exploding every second.I will not speak and I will not close my mouth because the future I see is worse than the past. We've lost count of the youths who are bombed, or do you know the number of the murdered NYSC members sometimes ago? My people, something is crying within me. I can feel tears moving through my spines. I can hear my heart crying for change. CHANGE? When will it come? How will it come? Where will it come from? My people, I'm confused because I don't know the answer to the first two questions. But the last question, {where will change come from?} I have all the answers you need.
You will be totally disappointed in me if I tell you that CHANGE will have to come from you. But, that's the truth. We all have to change before we can change our country. Many of us are doing some heartless things in the corner yet we come out to criticize the suicide bombers. Many of us are just too bad to be good. Yet, we want change. So, my people, if truly we want to change our country, let's look carefully at ourselves and change whatever needs to be changed. Then and only then will My Nigeria, Your Nigeria, Our Nigeria, be a better place for us all. GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

The Potter's House
When I was walking in the wilderness of life
And in my hands are fragments of my heart
For my heart was broken, not with knife
But, due to the heaviness in my heart.
I tried all I could to put the fragments together
I even went to my sister, brother and father
But their fragments were more than they can gather.
So, I determined to move further.
On my way, I met a man,
He said He was a potter
And that my fragments, He can put together.
He took me to His house, the Potter’s house
And in His house are many amended hearts.
He took my fragments, mended them
And behold, a new heart.
Although, He healed my heart a long time ago,
But to me, it was just like yesterday.
And it is free for all,
